The very first time I stood in a darkroom and watched an image slowly appear on a sheet of photographic paper, I knew that I had just discovered either a really expensive hobby or a really fun career. Either way, I was hooked! I am simply fascinated by the "magic" of photography...how, by using light and a camera you can capture moments and make them last forever. By looking at a photograph, you are instantly transported back to that place and time, no matter how long it has been. You can smell the ocean in the background or remember how a satin dress felt to your fingertips. Photographic images are visual records of personal experience. I studied photography at Appalachian State University in beautiful Boone, North Carolina. There was no shortage of photographic inspiration since I practically lived on the Blue Ridge Parkway! I received my degree in Technical Photography in December 2004 and returned to Raleigh. As a member of the New Image staff, I am excited to be a part of this team of creative professionals whose main goal is capturing beautiful memories of the precious moments in your life.
